Andrea Mele received a PhD in Chemical Sciences, Università di Genova (1990), and spent two years as post-doc at the University of Oxford working in the group of Raymond Dwek on NMR of oligosaccharides. Afterwards he obtained a permanent position at the Politecnico di Milano where he is full professor since 2011. He is co-founder of the Italian Association for chemistry and Technology of Cyclodextrin with Francesco Trotta. He was awarded of the Gold Medal of the NMR division of the Italian Chemical Society in 2017. His interests are mainly in the structure of inclusion complexes, structure and dynamics of cyclodextrin nanosponges via NMR and other spectroscopic methods. At 2018 he has 184 peer reviewed papers, many of them on NMR of cyclodextrins.
