Tamer Uyar obtained his PhD degree from North Carolina State University (USA, NC, Raleigh), in 2005. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at Department of Fiber Science & Apparel Design at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY, USA). His research group has a pioneering role in the field of electrospinning of nanofibers from cyclodextrins (CDs), cyclodextrin inclusion complexes (CD-ICs) and polymeric nanofibers functionalized with CDs and CD-ICs, for applications in Healthcare, Environmental/Filtration, Functional Textiles, Food and Active Food Packaging, NanoAgriculture, Catalysis, Sensors, etc. Prof. Uyar is the recipient of several prestigious international/national awards including 2016 Cyclodextrin Jozsef Szejtli Award. Prof. Uyar is the author of +200 peer-reviewed journal papers having about 6000 citations.
