Supramolecular Host-Guest Puzzles in Anticancer Metallodrugs

Radek Marek is a Professor of Chemistry at the Masaryk University, Brno, Czechia. During his studies, he spent several months at the University of Antwerp, Belgium and obtained his Ph.D. in 1995. He received the Prix de Chimie (J.-M. Lehn Prize) for the best PhD thesis in 1996, the Alfred Bader Prize in bioorganic chemistry in 2002, and the Petr Sedmera Award in NMR spectroscopy in 2018. He has long-term collaboration (regular research stays) with the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and the University of Tromsø, Norway. The main research areas of his group at CEITEC MU are the supramolecular interactions, host-guest chemistry, anticancer metallodrugs, paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy, and relativistic DFT calculation of NMR parameters (ResearcherID: D-6929-2012).
